Casa Batllo by Antoni Gaudí
Antoni Gaudí declared himself in one of design’s most poetic and artistic to the building, Casa Batllo. His style encompasses all that defines Art Nouveau, a decorative artist French school of the 1890s. Casa Batllo is designed for wealthy cotton baron Josep Batllo as a contradiction with the form jerking stiff that surrounds it. Antoni Gaudí worked with textile manufacturer named Josep Maria Jujol which helps especially in the ornamentation and the use of color on the surface treatment. Gaudí’s works, there are recurring religious imagery achieved almost subliminally. Antoni Gaudí, as an artist and believe in an all-encompassing design, not surprising that the intensity of detail and materiality is not left to the exterior only. Interior may be even more detailed and designed, the continuation of the walls twist and edge, and manipulation of color and incredible variety of scales.[Via]
