The Moonlight house was designed by Giovanni D’Ambrosio, designed carefully to prevent damage to vegetation and trees. Located in Mount Hotham, Australia. Typological archetype shape to resemble a house used by the states-men and cowboys who live in the area. Stone, wood and metal are the materials used for both the structure and construction of the project. Insulated metal roof and finish with the function of any climate. Brownish color that matches the feel of fine colored Nature Reserve. Consists of two levels, there are two bedrooms on the second floor, a master bedroom with bathroom and spa. (more…)

Home site is 90% covered with mature pohutukawa trees as part of a continuous belt of forest along the coast. Designed by Herbst Architects which aims to give individuals a smaller mass with an articulate form. Private function room and garage are stored in two towers that are interpreted as newly sawn stumps of trees that have been deleted. Interior space which is then viewed as carved from freshly cut wood. Public space connecting the two towers and an attempt to engage with pohutukawa forest around it by defining the crossover space between powerful natural environment and built form. The primary structure is a series of raised roof elements pertaining to tree trunks and branches of trees, but is detailed in a strict geometric arrangement that suggests a natural ordering. (more…)

“Shadowboxx” designed by Kundig Olson Architects. The building is located in the San Juan Islands, WA. Houses sit on a natural clearing created by strong winds which forced back the trees of the rocky bank. Building structure consists of exterior cladding is allowed to weather and rust, and shift doors, windows, walls and roof keep modulate the threshold between inside and outside, Its mass is modeled by the wind from the water. Materials with strong tactility used around the home, including crashing into the ground floor, reclaimed oak floorplanks, painted gypsum board and steel walls, the walls and roof of corrugated steel, and reclaimed scaffold boards to the ceiling. David Jameson Architect has designed a house which is situated on a hill site, the Great Fall, Verginia. The buildings are understood to be a trail, or a reference datum, allowing the reading of the relationship between buildings, nature, and is named Graticule House. In the interior space, the project architect to get a unique dialogue with exterior spaces, sites and striking white house stood against a natural brown and green that surrounds it. Omer Arbel has designed “The 23.2 House”, a family built on a large rural area outside of Vancouver on the west coast of Canada. The building has a design that began as a starting point, with storage hundred year old Douglas Fir beams reclaimed from a series of house-ware burned. The block is considered as sacred artifacts in their country today, with different length and cross sectional dimensions, and have amazing proportion – some 20 meters, a few centimeters deep as 90.
