Residence With L-Shaped Site Plan in Nishinomiya, Japan By Katsuhiro Miyamoto & Associates
Built on an area 63.27 sqm on two sites with different levels of 3-meter level, Katsuhiro Miyamoto & Associates has designed a residence which is located in Nishinomiya, Hyogo, Japan, and optimize the use of a curved surface in response to L-shaped site plan was adopted in order to effectively support a large volume of cantilever. On the first floor interior accommodates upper-level entrance and an empty room that consists of an external space through the terrace to the roof deck. Anticipation of rust in the future, Cor-ten steel is used to structure the first floor of this house and for public space floating above the retaining wall and above the upper level to better display the volume of steel used.
