“Shadowboxx” designed by Kundig Olson Architects. The building is located in the San Juan Islands, WA. Houses sit on a natural clearing created by strong winds which forced back the trees of the rocky bank. Building structure consists of exterior cladding is allowed to weather and rust, and shift doors, windows, walls and roof keep modulate the threshold between inside and outside, Its mass is modeled by the wind from the water. Materials with strong tactility used around the home, including crashing into the ground floor, reclaimed oak floorplanks, painted gypsum board and steel walls, the walls and roof of corrugated steel, and reclaimed scaffold boards to the ceiling. Hirsch Bedner Associates designed a residence with the theme of Japanese Maple that combines with the natural atmosphere. Named Karlusic Residence, designed open, and there is an internal page with a swimming pool and bamboo line. Equipped with a fireplace that is separate from the main building, using the frame on the thermal and double glass enclosed, heated floors with low voltage electric heat to maintain stable consistent throughout the winter. This modern house is located in Porto, Portugal with a customized living space into the environment from Camellia garden involving home, bound by a high wall made of granite. Oporto House was designed by +linha-linha Architects with the building structure consisting of four bedrooms, spread over three floors, with a floor area of 150m ². At each interior space to the definition of the axis is set vertical circulation (stairs / elevator) and horizontal distribution, stretching from the original residence of two floors to the attic, allowing definition of a free and wide area. Located in Aptos, California and is the Zeidler’s residence was designed by Ehrlich Architects. This house has several rooms and there are large windows and balconies to ensure a large amount of natural light and openness of the entire residence.
